Customize the widget
Everything about how the widget looks and behaves is configured in your workspace Settings — no code changes, and no need to update the embed snippet.
Branding
Under Settings → General you can set:
- Brand name — the title shown at the top of the chat panel.
- Brand color — used for the launcher bubble, the unread badge, and accents in the panel.
- Greeting — an optional opening message shown when a visitor opens the panel.
- Position — anchor the launcher to the bottom-right or bottom-left of the page.
Business hours & offline capture
Set a timezone and per-day open/close windows under Settings → Business hours. The widget shows an online/away status dot based on these hours, and outside them it shows an email-capture banner so visitors can leave a message you'll see in the inbox. Business hours also drive the outside-hours autopilot mode.
Pre-chat form
Turn on the pre-chat form to ask visitors for their name and email before their first message — useful when you want a way to follow up by email. It's a single toggle in settings; leave it off for the lowest-friction, start-typing-immediately experience.
Rotating the widget key
If your widget key is ever exposed or you want to retire old embeds, use Settings → Widget → rotate key. Rotating immediately invalidates the old key, so update the snippet everywhere you've embedded it right afterward.
The widget stays dependency-free and renders inside a Shadow DOM, so your site's CSS never leaks in and the widget's styles never leak out. Customization happens entirely through settings, not by overriding CSS.
